A loss here could see us in 9th place Easter Sunday evening - not a thought that sets the juices running.

Newcastle haven';t been in the best of form, and Batman is out for 9 months. We should go there and attack from the kick off - shut the home crowd up with an early goal and cruise to a 0-4 win.

'Tricky' is a very strange choice of words. 'Fucking difficult' is a lot more suitable, unless I've been down a cave for 3 months.

3-0

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Our form up there hasn't been too bad in recent years. W2 D2 L2 in the last 6. As for Newcastle, their loss of Nick Pope to injury is akin to ours of Fabianski in the last months of Pellegrini's reign. Since he got injured they've only won 4 in 14 games in the PL, conceding 34 goals.

Perfect time to play them as long as your team likes to attack and doesn't sit back all game. Oh...

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread
One of our better performances last season, they took an early lead, we equalised were the better team then sunk back to defend the point and hung on by our finger nails after he took Paqueta off. Sound familiar?

At home to them this season was the reverse of that a bit like the Villa game where we were totally dominated second half but he brought Kudus on with 15 minutes to go after we hadn't had a shot on goal for about 60 minutes odd, and he rescued a point for us, sound familiar.

Can't put my finger on why fans want Moyes out..

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread
This strikes me as one of them ''got a bad feeling about this'' games. Early KO up there, Howe needs a win and we weren't that good against Villa. I see a defeat here.

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread
We had our best team out against Villa and only 30% possession means having to defend very well. But we let too many in nowadays and just look too slow in much of what we do.

I will be surprised and delighted if we get anything from the game despite their poor form.

Sir Alf

Does this mean you're now a fan of 'super' Tom as you think that's our best team :-)

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Haha well I suppose Ive resigned myself to accepting he’ll never be benched :-). Phillips would have been a good replacement but we got the past it / broken version of that player.

JWP form also fallen off a cliff and Tommy playing well by his standards recently gets him in by default. Never thought that would happen and he’s still a weak point in midfield if we ever want to keep the ball for more than 30% in a game but Moyes doesnt play that way. Hopefully he gets replaced next season with a new coach but Im not banking on it :-(

I thought we were good against Villa should have won it but not this one, the same West Ham way we won’t travel well. 3-1.

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread
RM10 - Yea on reflection ,maybe a tad harsh. More broadly the Villa game is likely irrelevant anyway, seems to be these days that form, good or bad, isn't really taken into the next game, every game seems like a fresh start kind of thing. But yea, I really don't fancy this one. Looking forward to it regardless, as this weekend has been shit.

Loving your positivity lowlife. I am making a couple of days of this. Visiting Hadrian’s Wall, staying over in a pub, nice cooked breakfast then more pub before early kick off. Your 0-4 score line will top it all off!

All out attack would be different but like people have said our defence is poor at the moment so we would probably lose 3 - 2.

There dodgy at the back . Then again so are we . If we shackle issak properly I suspect we'll win . We have a better record up there than some people make out .

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
I've no doubt we could win if we went at them with Bowen, Lucas and Kudus given free reign.

They were in the top four last season though so Moyes will put ten men behind the ball and waste out attacking talent.

We will lose 3-1. Shame.

MOYES OUT
